Merry Christmas CA

Merry Christmas to All and a good Night.

It is so nice to get together for Christmas and this year we aren't. We will be thinking of you and the fun we used to have. Children playing, bells ringing, and the smell of Christmas foods cooking until noon. We will be remembering all of you this bright Christmas day (but with out the snow of course).
-- Scott
Make the most of every Christmas morning
Even when the weather’s not so clear.
Riches come and go with little warning,
Rendered only to what souls are there.
Yet some would spend their Christmas at hard labor,
Choosing to ignore the gifts of grace,
Having much, though little that they savor,
Resigned to serve the lords of time and place.
In Christmas there is work and there is pleasure,
So interfused one cannot separate
The labor from the loving, common treasure
Made from giving, much beloved weight,
A burden and a blessing both, that one
Should relish till the precious day is done.

Halloween Fun (a little late)

Vienna and her friends at our ward Halloween Carnival. She was a Chinese Fighting Princess.
Dr. Higbee and Dr. Higbee. We are the coolest don't you think?
My Little Monsters!
Saxon and his "Ninja Pumpkin Head" He too was a ninja for Halloween.
Oh yes, I know it is only a week late, but here is our Halloween update. I wish we had some sort of exciting news about the big night, but it was your standard get all the candy that you can experience. I took the kids out first and came home to a house full of people. Bryce invited a bunch of people over and they all brought treats so I wasn't too upset. We were very lucky to have Vienna with us this year. The past two years she went trick-or-treating with friends and this year decided she wanted to be with her family. We all felt so special!! The kids came home about 3 miles later and proceeded to count all of their candy taking special care of their "full size" treats. Saxon's was gone within a 24 hour period. Kael finished his a couple of days ago, and I think Vienna will still have her stash this time next year. Oh how I loved Halloween when I was young. I love reliving it with these little ones. Definately one of the best parts about parenting.

Other Halloween fun.

This was a great year for Halloween treats. The kids went to 3 nights of parting and treats. Hank ran hard to pick up as much as he could so later he could enjoy supplying is dentist with candy for 2 dollars a pound. He collected more then 7 pounds worth and was very pleased with himself. The girls had a very sweet week. Sarah had a delightful tigger dance which came with a cute tummy rub and jiggle.

School friends make for tuns of fun on Halloween day. Audrey was with her friends that night and walked around the old town seeing the sights and collecting candy. The rest of us went to the suburbs and to a town Halloween fair. Being in the country is great but when your treating, the suburbs are the best. SAH

Alright... So This is what we Dressed up for Halloween as... Actually this is me and My Friend Volunteering at a local Haunted house put on by the DARE program... Its got some way cool stuff... the Costumes down below like the Predator Costumes and others were made by a guy that works in Hollywood... some of the costumes like the 2 Predator and Jeppers Creepers costumes below cost $1000+... so we had to be careful!

Can you Guess Which one I am?

Allen~

Then in the Middle is Me <> Im in a Predator Costume from a movie called AVP <> Then Shawn is just behind me in the Red Clown mask and Rainbow Afro...Then Heather is the Clown out Front in Poki-Dots.. then at the End is my Uncle Travis also in a Predator Costume... It was Great fun!

Here are some of the Extra Masks... Creepy! :o

Alright, this is Me <> and Heather... Heather is the Clown, and i am in Jeppers Creepers Costume... I wish i had the Mask on when i took the Pick, it looks Real... i also got to stand on a Pnumatic Lift that would raise me 4 feet into the Air... and their were some real Knarly Wings that would Open up and Flap... it was like a 6 foot wing span... Deffenatly one of my Favorite Costumes and places to scare!
Alright... This Costume is sapost to be a Mutant Fish... Except im all Hairy... how does that work? ant i think this was one of the most hottest Costumes their are.... accept maybe the Warewolf Costumes...

If they have someting like this in your local areas, I HIGHLY advise you partisipate in it because its way fun and a good cause!

Baltimore Eh?

Well everyone... its nice and Brownish tan here :/ no snow yet to cover up all the dead grass and weeds... and the trees are loosing their leaves.. this dosent help to make it look more inviting ;P anywho.. I got some lovely Picks from Halloween and other things... here is a lil snapshot into our lives... ^.^ Here are some great picks of me and Ryan and Makayla Playing in the snow on Conference Sunday... We got a freak snowstorm that dropped like 6 inches of snow starting at around 6:00 am and leaving us with 6 inches of snow by 9:00 am... The trees around the neighborhood were Crumbleing under the sheir weight of the snow because they still had green leaves on them so the snow piled up on em... thus we went about the neighborhood beatiing the snow offa the trees with Rakes and Brooms and even a 2X4 :o It was Amazing.

Yes, we are still alive!

I apologize for it being so long. I find that if I get a chance to even check my email once a week I am doing pretty good. My computer is very good at collecting dust. We have been very busy as usual. I am sure you all understand what that is like. Yes, some of you have heard, we are having last but not least, #4. I am now 14 weeks along and as long as I have food in my tummy I feel great. The kids wrapped up thier soccer season today and I am glad, I love to play, but I don't think coaching is my thing. I'm sure I'll be doing a lot more of it in the future, but for now I'm glad for the break. The kids are so excited for Halloween and now that dad decided to break out the Christmas movies they are all excited for Christmas. Letters for Santa have already been written. Vienna is loving school and everything about it. Kael is doing very well in school. He has a crush on a girl in his class and does nice things for her everyday (he learns that from his dad!) Saxon is three and yes he is a royal pain in the you-know-what. So cute but stubborn as a mule (thanks again dad) I am busy busy as usual. Still teaching a little, volunteering at the school a couple of days a week, soccer coach, Girl Scout Mom, Beehive advisor, and not to mention trying to be the best wife and mom. I think my business keeps me from feeling pregnant. Bryce is busy with work which is good. The busier he is the better he is doing. He is absolutely amazing. So that is about it. Nothing else to say. Pictures are not working on blogspot right now, I will post some soon along with a post from our Hawaii trip.
Love all around,
Lori
Hey there halversen families! I am going to stop checking this blog if people don't start posting!! We want to see some pictures and posts here or you'all are going to get a halloween curse!

Wrapping up a great summer!

Well, We are still hanging on to summer with warm temperatures. Great time to be out on the river so we have been wake boarding alot when we are not playing volleyball, football, college and the other stuff we do. It was fun to have mark down last week. He caught some big air.

Geoff, I think, has invented an new trick I call a Raley Flip.

Steph has been pretty brutal on the other teams. Go figure such a sweet girl normally.

Lena likes cooling off in the river. These two guys are waiting their turns on the board.

Morgan caught another pass in tonights game for a score. I was going crazy. I played in a mens fall league softball game where we actually won a game 27 to 26. Oh. it was ugly.

Meet Jessica's new friend, Leeloo.

Hope everyone has had a great summer 2007. We sure had fun. Our reunion was so wonderful and we will never forget it.

A Bob Day

There once was a dog name Bob.

He lived in a jar of pickles near the door.

All the ants were his friends. He had many friends.

He would give them sugar for breakfast.

His friends were very happy to be Bobs friend.

Bob took them for rides around the yard.

They would play in the dirt and run through the grass.

Bob had thousands of friends and felt very loved.

He played hard all summer until the fall.

He was sad during the winter when his friends went to bed,

But was happy to see them in the cool spring air.

First dance..

Audrey and friend Jessica.

O... my word! Audrey went to her first church dance today. Where has all the time gone? She is so grown up now, leaving dad in the dust. It is hard to keep up with all these big changes. I guess all you other old timers are used to this by now. This dad is just starting to see how fast things move in the new world of having a teenager in the house. I am still trying to get over the idea that all teenagers have to have cell phones... -Scott

Scout Clean up day

We had a lot of fun helping out during the Scount service project. The food was good and the camping was great with our trusty 6 inch foam sleeping gear. We all had a great boogie boarding time after the hard work.

We have a good group of kids and Hank had fun. - Scott

"the quintessential Shakespeare Santa Cruz experience: full of humor and power and leaving the audience wanting more."

Another season coming to a close and we all had fun doing the Shakespeare thing. We saw plays and toured back stage with family and friends. The kids joined us to see Much Ado About Nothing. From all their laughing I think they really liked it. For Kate and I it is a tradition to sit under the beautiful cool redwoods and soak in the wit of the Bard. Hmm-mmm-good. -Scott

Hank is now in middle school.

Santa Cruz summer beach time.

This is a year for changes. Audrey is in high school now and Hank is in middle school. They both are ready to take on the new year with brave smiles and a an eagerness to learn and do thier best. After a full summer of playing hard it is good to get back in the swing of things. We still go to the beach every week and go to local events but now with the juggling of homework and some sports. Maybe now I can get to some of the needed yard work before the rains come. Sarah is happy to have two of her best friends in her class this year. -Scott

Football game tonight.

I got my money's worth tonight.
Morgan's football team was kinda getting there
butts kicked by the team from Hazelwood. But
there was a storm a brewin. That storm is -MORGAN-
Down by 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter.
7 minutes left. Madison gets the ball back
on the 40 and gets it down to the 32 at 4th down.
They sent Morgan deep to the endzone. One of the
few pass attempts all night because their secondary
defenders were good all game.
In a crowd of defenders, he went up and caught
the ball and came down with the Touchdown to
bring the team to within 4 points. We marched
again with new momentum and got the ball back and
score another TD in the last 30 seconds.
The crowd in the stadium went bananas!
Morgans high five hand is about worn out tonight
by all the congrats.

Saxons Cowboy Birthday! (a little late!!)

Thought I would put up a few pictures of Saxon's birthday! It was quite the birthday! It started with a parade and he left with about 3 pounds of candy. All of his Utah cousins and aunts and uncles came over for a BBQ (that's about 30!) He is really into cowboys so we took him to a rodeo and then topped it off with our town fireworks! He just thought all the celebrating was for him. We didn't tell him it was Alpine days! He doesn't care, it was great! Here are some pics!

Summer is Over!

Hangin out on the boat and "TUBIN"
Saxon is our Boat FANATIC!
First Day of Schoos Threads!
Saxon going au naturalle on the ranch!

Well, Vienna started 1st grade on Tuesday and I am coming to the realization that summer is pretty much over. Sending your first child off to first grade is quite somthing. I never realized how long school really is. I found myself missing my little girl in the early afternoon and watched the clock slowly tick by until she walked through my door. And all she could say about her first day of school was "Mom, we had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit, and a cookie for lunch!!" Yes, lunch was the highlight of school for her. She never liked pb&j sandwiches at our house, oh well. She is loving school. It doesn't hurt that all of her best friends are in her class. I'm just hoping that with all the distraction she might actually learn somthing.

We took a short trip down to our ranch to camp last weekend. One last hurrah before school starts and we had a fabulous time, except for when Bryce drove the Jeep into a ditch!! We got it out o.k. and we had a fantastic time! The kids love camping and I only wish we had gone more this summer! All in all it was a good summer. The reunion was definately a highlight. I hope everyone else had a fantastic summer. I'm a little sad it's over, but I am excited for a little structure. Things seem crazy in the summertime. Here is a few pictures of our outings!
